Abstract This study investigates the impact of Lean Supply Chain Management (LSCM) practices on logistics operational efficiency within Northwest District council in Botswana. Data was gathered from 59 respondents using a quantitative method. The results revealed that 18.9% of them were actively using LSCM, indicating a restricted adoption rate. The effective implementation of lean concepts is hampered by a number of important obstacles, including a lack of managerial support and training (71.7% of respondents indicated insufficient training). Notwithstanding these difficulties, the study shows that LSCM can improve service delivery times and customer happiness, which will increase overall operational efficiency. In order to optimise logistical operations, the study highlights the necessity of thorough training programs, technological investments, and frequent evaluations of LSCM methods. This work contributes valuable insights to both academic literature and practical applications in public sector supply chain management and highlight the necessity for further research on LSCM in diverse contexts.
