Abstract Risk-taking behavior and emotional regulation are crucial behavioral outcomes shaped significantly by perceived parenting styles. Despite widespread research in Western contexts, Indian cultural dynamics in these domains remain underexplored. This study examines the correlations among perceived parenting styles, emotional regulation strategies, and risk-taking behavior in Indian adults. A cross-sectional quantitative design was used. Data were collected from 127 Indian adults (aged 18–35) using standardized tools: Parenting Style Inventory – Short Form (PSI-SF), Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), and General Risk Propensity Scale (GRiPS). Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses were conducted. No significant correlations were found between any specific parenting style and emotional regulation strategies. Emotional regulation showed a marginal but not statistically significant trend with risk-taking behavior. A regression model indicated perceived parenting styles did not significantly predict risk-taking behavior. Parenting styles, while influential in development, may not directly predict emotional regulation or risk-taking behavior in Indian adults. Contextual factors such as individual temperament and cultural influences may play more significant roles
