Country | India |
Abstract | Insomnia disorder is one of the most prevalent sleep disorders globally, often leading to impaired daytime functioning, reduced quality of life, and increased risk for comorbid conditions. While cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) remains the gold standard treatment, mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) have emerged as promising alternatives or adjuncts. This article synthesizes recent evidence on the efficacy of mindfulness-based approaches in managing insomnia disorder, highlighting mechanisms of action, clinical outcomes, and potential advantages over conventional therapies. |
Keywords | insomnia disorder, mindfulness, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), mindfulness-based therapy for insomnia (MBTI), sleep quality. |
