Abstract This study investigates the effect of yoga on mental health by synthesizing findings from 50 peer-reviewed empirical studies published between 2000 and 2024. Using a descriptive research approach and the PRISMA methodology, literature was screened and categorized into five thematic areas: depression, anxiety, stress management, emotional regulation, and psychological well-being. The analysis reveals consistent evidence that yoga practices, including asanas, pranayama, meditation, and integrated yoga modules, contribute significantly to reducing mental health symptoms and enhancing overall psychological resilience. Mechanisms include neurochemical modulation, stress hormone reduction, and improved self-regulation. The findings support the integration of yoga into mental health interventions and policy frameworks.
