Abstract The present investigation reveals the mineral composition in the leaves of Mammea suriga Buch-Han. Ex. Roxb Kosten affected by fungus Colletotrichum gleosporioides, causing anthracnose disease. The dried sample of healthy and infected leaves was used for mineral analysis. The samples were acid digested by method of Toth et al. (1948). The digested sample was subjected to ICP- Inductive Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy ICP-OES (Agilent 5800 ICP-OES FAQ’S) MY 15230013software version 7.30.8799 Firmware version 3354 for mineral analysis. A total of about 17 different elements were estimated. The infected leaf of Mammea suriga Kosterm shows an enhanced content of aluminum, boron, calcium, copper, chromium, indium, potassium, lithium, magnesium, manganese and strontium elements. Mean while elements like barium, iron, sodium, nickel, lead and zinc contents get reduced in the infected leaves during pathogenesis thereby showing a high metabolic shift during infection.
