Correlation Between Transcutaneous Bilirubinometer (Delta MBJ20) and Total Serum Bilirubin Levels in Late-Preterm and Term Neonates for Detecting Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia at the Tertiary Care Center in Nepal

| Abstract | Neonatal jaundice affects 60-80% of newborns, with 5-10% progressing to clinically significant hyperbilirubinemia requiring intervention. While total serum bilirubin (TSB) remains the diagnostic gold standard, its invasiveness limits utility. Transcutaneous bilirubinometers (TcB) offer a non-invasive alternative, but device-specific validation is critical. This study evaluates the correlation and diagnostic accuracy of the low-cost Delta MBJ20 TcB against TSB in a Nepalese tertiary care setting. |
