Author(s) Mr. Amit Kumar Sen

Abstract Augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and immersive technologies have been rapidly impacting education and other information services. Libraries, the intellectual hubs for knowledge dissemination, are incorporating these new technologies to make learning more interactive, engaging, and learner-centric. This paper discusses the theoretical underpinnings of AR, VR, and immersive technologies, as well as their possible applications in academic and agricultural libraries. This study underscores the role of these tools in providing enhanced access to information, facilitating creative teaching and learning experiences, and strengthening research. It also discusses some of the pros, cons, and limitations of immersive technologies for libraries, particularly in terms of infrastructure, cost, digital literacy, and accessibility issues. The results highlight the role of immersive technologies as significant not only as adjuncts but also as part of the next-generation library environment and as a means of promoting creativity, collaboration, and the creation of new knowledge.
