| Abstract | In vitro fertilization (IVF) is one of the most remarking achievements of modern medicine, helping millions of people who are unable to become pregnant. In the last 40 years, success rates have increased significantly following refinements in stimulation protocols, laboratory methods, culture media, and genetic testing. One key success factor remains largely ignored – the health and wellness of an embryologist. A comprehensive review of literature, including a 2022 web-based survey of 487 U.S. embryologists, was conducted to identify prevalent occupational health issues. This review delves into the physical and psychological burdens faced by embryologists and advocates for systemic changes to promote their health. |
