| Abstract | This study investigates the relationship between cultural adaptation and work ethic among Ghanaian students studying in a host country. With globalization and increased student mobility, understanding how cultural integration affects academic and professional behaviors is crucial. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study collected quantitative data through structured questionnaires and qualitative insights via interviews with Ghanaian students across multiple universities. Findings indicate that students who exhibit higher levels of cultural awareness, social integration, and adaptability demonstrate stronger work ethic, including diligence, punctuality, and commitment to academic responsibilities. Conversely, challenges in cultural adaptation, such as acculturative stress and social isolation, were associated with lower work engagement and motivation. The study concludes that cultural adaptation is a key determinant of students’ work-related behaviors abroad and recommends targeted orientation programs, mentorship, and institutional support to enhance adaptation and productivity. The findings have implications for universities, policymakers, and students seeking to maximize academic success in multicultural settings. |
