Understanding The Impact of Janapadodhwamsa And Air Quality Index on Pollution Induced Nasal Diseases

Abstract In Ayurveda, acharyas have mentioned the about of the Ambarapeeyusha and its importance in doing Preenana and giving Jeevana to Deha. Any Avarodha in nourishment of dosha and dhatu causes vyadhi. In the concept of Janapadodhwamsa - Vayu, Jala, Desha, Kaala plays prime important role in mainting the body state in equilibrium. In the current era, Air Quality Index in Metropolitian areas people is more prone to be affected with vyadhis like Pratishyaya, Dusta Pratishaya,Nasanha/Nasapratinaha, Nasashosha, Bhramsatu, Kshavatu, Nasasrava, Nasagata Raktapitta, Nasa Arshas (Allergic Rhinitis, Hypertrophied Turbinate, Rhinorrhoea, Sinusitis Conditions) proper measures have to be taken for the maintenance of quality of life.In the year 2024, India stands 5th place in global rank in the population and the air quality index in India ranged from 30-138, with particulate matter < 50.56 microgram per meter2. Nose not only helps in Respiration but also does Conditioning of Inspired Air, Nasal Reflex Function, Olfaction, Protection of Lower Airway. In this article an attempt is made to understand how nasaroga are caused due to srotodusti, and how the involvement of Japadhodhwamsa is leading to the reocccurance of nasa rogas in Metropolitian cities, understanding its Samprapti (Pathology) and Chikitsa followed to maintain the Quality of Life.
