Abstract Primary cooperative societies merged as a key catalyst for promoting financial inclusion, strengthening local communities and encouraging sustainable growth in rural areas through minor forest products. By offering essential services like finance, savings, agricultural inputs, marketing assistance and capacity-building programs, these grassroots organizations empower marginalized rural communities have access to opportunities and resources. They improve social cohesiveness and lessen economic inequality through shared ownership and communal decision-making. Additionally, primary cooperatives help small-scale businesses and enhance livelihoods by facilitating rural entrepreneurship. They serve as accelerators for inclusive and comprehensive rural development by tackling issues like unemployment, poverty, and poor infrastructural access. This paper examines the revolutionary role of primary cooperative societies in emphasizing comprehensive socioeconomic development in rural communities.
