| Abstract | Short-form video platforms, such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, have adversely transformed digital entertainment and social interaction patterns among young adults. Although these platforms foster creativity and connectivity, their compelling, algorithm-driven content encourages compulsive usage that disrupts normal sleep routines. This descriptive research investigates both psychological and physical involvement with respect to sleep disruption as a part of the addictive use of short-form video consumption. An overview of the literature on existing secondary sources shows that late video scrolling at night also causes sleep delay, shortens sleep, and decreases daytime activities. The study concludes with recommendations on digital hygiene practices, policy interventions, and awareness initiatives to help young adults balance digital engagement with healthy sleep habits. |
| Keywords | Short-form videos, TikTok, Instagram Reels, sleep disruption, addiction, young adults, digital detox. |
