| Abstract | The way businesses recruit is undergoing a shift, thanks to the rising use of AI chatbots. These days candidates often find themselves interacting with automated systems from the get go. This has a number of benefits. It accelerates the hiring process boosts efficiency and enables companies to handle a volume of applicants. Reviewing job applications can be a business. Ai chatbots seem to bring a level of consistency to the table that’s tough for human recruiters to match. They can help cut down on bias, in the hiring process making it a fairer deal all round. All this typically adds up to a less time-consuming experience, for job seekers. This new way of hiring isn't, without its drawbacks though. A lot of people who took part in surveys liked how fast AI powered hiring was. They still had some reservations. For one thing lots of them weren't sure if they could trust the system to be fair. Some people wondered if chatbots could really make decisions without any kind of bias creeping in. Many of them wanted to know more about what was happening with their information. How it was being used and how these machines were making decisions, about their job applications. Meanwhile others felt like all the automation was sucking the personality out of the recruitment process making it feel cold and impersonal. Researchers collected feedback from 128 people using surveys. Found some insights. For a lot of them the crowd and those who are pretty comfortable, with technology AI chatbots were a hit because they're convenient and easy to access, despite the positives concerns lingered. People were still worried, about their privacy whether they'd be treated fairly and the fact that they might be missing out on connections. When hiring companies are discovering that AI can be a help in getting everything sorted out. That shouldn't make them forget what really matters. They need to be straight with everyone involved and treat them fairly. A good way to do it is to balance the efficiency of technology with a touch. Hiring isn't a painful task. It's about the people behind each application and treating them with kindness and respect. It is being decent and honest with others. It isn't just about making your company run more efficiently, it is about creating a process that actually invests in the individuals it employs. |
