| Abstract | India, as a rising global power, has developed a nuanced and multifaceted approach to diplomacy in the 21st century, reflecting its ambition to shape international discourse while safeguarding national interests. This research paper explores the evolution and execution of India's diplomatic strategies, focusing on key pillars such as bilateral and multilateral relations, soft power projection, economic diplomacy, and strategic alliances. It examines how India has transitioned from a policy of non-alignment to one of strategic autonomy, enabling it to engage flexibly with a range of global actors including the United States, Russia, China, and regional neighbours. Through a combination of qualitative research and an extensive literature review, the study identifies prevailing patterns in India’s foreign policy conduct, evaluates their effectiveness, and investigates how India manages emerging challenges in a multipolar world order. The paper also delves into India’s use of cultural diplomacy, the influence of its global diaspora, and its active participation in international forums like the United Nations, BRICS, G20, and the Quad. By analysing these diverse strategies and their implementation, the study provides critical insights into India’s evolving role in global affairs and assesses the future trajectory of its international diplomacy in a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape. |
