Abstract ABSTRACT
Title: Assess the knowledge regarding PCOD among arts college students at selected college at Madurai Objectives: To assess the level of knowledge regarding poly cystic ovarian disease among college students, To associate level of knowledge regarding poly cystic ovarian disease among students with selected demographic variables. Hypothesis: H1: There will be significant association between level of knowledge with selected demographic variables among college students. Methodology: Non experimental (descriptive) research design was used. 30 subjects were selected by Non-probability (purposive) sampling technique. Setting of the study: the study was conducted at
Shri Meenakshi Govt arts college Madurai. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire, Findings: Among 30 samples, Majority of the subjects 27(90%) were having average level of knowledge , 2(6.6%) were having above
average level of knowledge and 1(3.3%) were having below average level of knowledge on PCOD. Conclusion: The study concluded that majority of the subjects 27(90%) were having average level of knowledge. The Socio demographic variables such as age of the subject(χ2=21.72, t value=12.5) Course of study (χ2=30, t value=9.49) marital status (χ2=16.5, t value=12.5) , Menstrual complication (χ2=33.1, t value=9.49) were associated other variables religion, type of family, family monthly income, family history of PCOD, Menstrual history, Food habits, Dressing style were not associated with level of knowledge regarding PCOD among College students with selected Socio demographic variables.
