Abstract This study examines how adolescents use music to regulate their emotions and how this relates to stress. Focusing on early (10–14) and late (15–19) adolescents, data were collected through an online survey using the Brief Music in Mood Regulation (BMMR) scale and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). Results showed that while both groups used music similarly, late adolescents reported slightly higher stress. A negative correlation was found between music mood regulation and stress, suggesting that adolescents who relied more on music experienced lower stress. Overall, the findings highlight music as a simple and effective tool for emotional coping and stress reduction during adolescence.
