Abstract The study explores the relationship between smartphone addiction and quality of sleep among college students. Through a comprehensive analysis, the research aims to identify the relationship between smartphone addiction and quality of sleep among college students aged 18-26. This study utilised quantitative methodology using 100 samples, which consisted of 50 males and 50 females. The data of this study was collected by using scales involving the Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS; Kwon et al; 2013) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI; Pittsburgh; 1989.). The research findings indicate a significant positive correlation between smartphone addiction and disturbance in sleep quality among college students. Furthermore, there is the absence of significant gender differences in both smartphone addiction and quality of sleep. Excessive smartphone use can lead to increased arousal and cognitive stimulation, making it harder for individuals to wind down and fall asleep.
