Factors Affecting Employees’ Job Satisfaction: Evidence from Non-government Organizations (Ngo) in Bangladesh

| Abstract | Abstract Purpose: At present, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO)s are playing a crucial role in improving the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. The main purpose of this study is to reveal how the employees’ job satisfaction is affected by factors like work condition, pay promotions, fairness, job security, and relationships with coworkers and supervisors in the NGO sector in Bangladesh. Methodology: This study investigated the factors influencing employee job satisfaction in randomly selected national and international NGOs in Bangladesh. Employing a descriptive survey research design, the study utilized both qualitative and quantitative data. A total of 100 structured questionnaires were distributed, of which 60 were completed and returned, representing the study population. Findings: This study identified limited job security and unfair organizational culture as a key challenge within the NGO sector in Bangladesh, which negatively affect employee satisfaction. This research also finds a significant positive relationship between job factors and employees' job satisfaction. Specifically favorable working conditions pay and promotions, fairness, and job security motivate employees’ ability to deliver services efficiently and effectively. Research implications: This study has significant implications for supervisors and policymakers of NGOs that prioritize different job factors that will increase employees’ motivation. It shows that job factors are crucial to an employees’ job satisfaction. It has great potential for future research in these sectors with a broader perspective. Originality/value: This study aims to fill gaps in the literature by analyzing the job factors that affect employees’ job satisfaction in the NGO sector in Bangladesh. |
