| Abstract | ABSTRACT: Background of the study: Convulsions are among the most common neurological conditions affecting children, often disrupting their education and daily life. Lack of awareness and preparedness among school teachers can adversely impact the immediate response during such episodes. Objectives: This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a structured teaching program in enhancing school teachers' knowledge regarding the immediate care of convulsions in children. Methods: A quantitative research approach was adopted using a one-group pre-test and post-test design. A total of 50 school teachers from government primary schools in Vadodara City were selected through non-probability convenient sampling. A structured questionnaire was used to evaluate knowledge levels before and after the intervention. The structured teaching program significantly improved the participants' understanding of convulsion care. Result: The mean pre-test score was 15.44, which increased to 21.82 in the post-test, showing a mean difference of 6.38. The standard deviation was 2.62 (pre-test) and 2.40 (post-test), with a calculated t-value of 15.76 (df=49, p<0.05), indicating statistical significance. Additionally, a significant association was found between pre-test knowledge scores and selected demographic variables. Conclusion: These findings affirm that structured teaching programs are effective tools to enhance knowledge and preparedness among school teachers, thereby improving the quality of immediate care provided to children experiencing convulsions.
