| Abstract | Ambikapur has a decentralized solid and liquid resource management system which has shown promising results in efficiently managing urban waste. Composting is an integral part of SLRM and has an indispensible role in converting organic wastes into a valuable nutrient rich resource. This overview examines the composting process within the existing operational system and evaluates the effectiveness of composting as a part of sustainable waste management in the city The role of composting is evaluated for its impact on reducing waste, compost production and community participation. The study identifies key factors contributing to the success of the solid liquid resource management. The findings quantify reductions in wastes sent to landfill, production of quality compost and enhanced environmental awareness in the community. The paper establishes the vital role of composting in the zero waste system in the city in promoting a circular economy and reducing waste disposal costs. This research contributes to understanding of decentralized solid liquid resource management and offers insights for development of sustainable waste management strategies in small cities. |
