| Abstract | The phenomenon of counterfeiting has existed for centuries but has expanded drastically in the modern globalized economy. Counterfeit products range from luxury items and electronics to pharmaceuticals and everyday consumer goods, raising concerns for businesses, governments, and consumers alike. This review paper examines the definition, drivers, prevalence, and implications of counterfeiting by synthesizing prior scholarly research and global reports. It was found that major player of this product is China followed by Asia. The man drivers for the purchase were social recognition and price. It has been projected that counterfeit demand will rise to $ i.79 trillion by 2030 and one in twenty people will but any one counterfeit product in 2020.
