Knowledge, Attitude, Behavior and Barrier Regarding Exercise for Patients with Mental Illness among Under Graduate Nursing

| Abstract | Abstract Exercise is a body activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness, overall health and wellness. Exercise’s as good as medicines' in treating disease. Exercise makes us feel better & burning off stress, reducing muscle tension & boosting endorphins. This study aimed to assess knowledge, attitude, behavior and barriers towards exercise patients with Mental Illness among Under Graduate Nursing Students at Ranchi. Purposive Sample technique which included 115 visiting Under Graduate Nursing Students and a structured questionnaire applied which consists of 4 parts. Result shows that, maximum Under Graduate Nursing Students 78.3% were in the age group of 18-22 years and 87% were identified as females 94.8% were single. Majority of the Under Graduate Nursing Students 64.3% were definitely participating in further training for exercise, most of the students were 93.9 %. preferred delivery mode by face-to-face / lecture or seminar. Under Graduate Nursing Students were Participate in Further Training Preferred majority 48.7% of participants preferred all of the above Topics. Maximum percentage of Under Graduate Nursing Students has average knowledge and positive attitude regarding exercise for patients with mental illness. |
