histopathological study of neoplasstic lesions of salivary gland

| Abstract | This study was conducted for 10 years in Government Medical College Miraj during the period of August 2003 to July 2013. Total number of salivary gland lesions included were 82.Major salivary glands were involved in 88.5% of salivary gland tumors. Pleomorphic adenoma (59.6%) was the commonest benign tumor. Whereas commonest malignant tumor was adenoid cystic carcinoma constituted 38.5 % of all malignant salivary gland tumors.Histopathology remains the gold standard method for diagnosis because of histomorphological diversity. |
