| Abstract | The English novel developed during the 18th century, partly in response to an expansion of the middle-class reading public. However, there was a culmination of many ideas and thoughts developed during 19th century as a result of Victorian ideas. The Victorian values and its ornate style got reflected in both themes and the narrative styles of the key writers of that century. Wuthering Heights is considered as a classic of English literature. Emily Bronte is revered as one of the finest writers of the nineteenth century. Apart from novel's symbolism, structures and language which necessitates a detailed study. Novel's popularity based on its unforgettable characters. As a shattering presentation of the doomed love affair between the fiercely passionate Catherine and Heathcliff, it remains one of the most haunting love stories in all of the literature. This paper aims to study the inter relationship between characters and how they contribute to building social classes.Wuthering Heights excels in its finest observation and artistic subtlety,particularly in the character representation of the nineteenth century England.The study centers around the depiction of social classes through characters. |
