Abstract This research study investigates the instructional challenges, strategies, and best practices of medical faculty members teaching research with artificial intelligence (AI) integration. Adopting a documentary analysis methodology, the study examines a wide range of documents, including scholarly articles, textbooks, syllabi, instructional manuals, and institutional reports. The findings reveal significant instructional challenges, including limited technical proficiency among faculty members, a lack of standardized curricula and instructional resources, institutional barriers, and varying levels of student engagement and readiness. To address these challenges, faculty members employ effective instructional strategies such as collaborative learning, interdisciplinary teaching methods, experiential learning opportunities, and adaptive learning technologies. Key best practices identified include continuous professional development for faculty, the development and dissemination of AI-specific instructional materials, collaborative partnerships, and fostering a culture of innovation. A proposed model for AI integration emphasizes ongoing professional development, interdisciplinary and experiential learning, adaptive technologies, and robust institutional support. These findings have important implications for medical educators, administrators, and policymakers seeking to enhance the quality and effectiveness of research education in the era of AI.
