| Abstract | India’s renowned philosopher and political leader Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay has introduced the concept of ‘Integral Humanism’. 'Integral Humanism' aimed to present an 'Indigenous socio-economic model' in which human beings are at the centre of development. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's India-centric ideology rejected both Western 'capitalist individualism' and 'Marxist socialism', on the other hand, it welcomed modern technology and Western science. According to him, capitalist and socialist ideologies consider only the needs of the human physic and mind, hence they are based on materialistic objectives, whereas for the holistic development of human beings, spiritual development is a prerequisite along with these. He has imagined a classless, casteless, and conflict-free society that explained the pathways of social inclusion. This approach should also known as the Holistic approach to human development. Rooted in social inclusion and holistic development, it advocates for a society where individuals and communities' material, intellectual, and spiritual needs are harmonized. This philosophy stands in contrast to strictly materialistic ideologies by focusing on the balance between economic growth, social justice, cultural heritage, and moral values. This approach fosters social inclusion by allowing communities to shape policies based on their unique cultural, social, and economic circumstances, rather than imposing a one-size-fits-all solution. Therefore, this can be known as a decentralized approach to the empowerment of communities. This paper is based on secondary data sources. An explanatory and descriptive method is used to discuss the philosophy of integral humanism. Objective of the paper is to understand and describe the philosophy of integral humanism a tool of social inclusion and holistic development. |
