Abstract It is the substantial genuineness that each and every step towards the modern art is based on our classical realism. The authenticity of contemporary art is only justified with measure in the balance of the scale of various Art forms, from the windows of the History. For instance, the Ajanta frescos (3rd century BC -1century AD), Jain Manuscripts, Mughal miniature in central India had inspired Kangra miniature. The forms depicted in Mughal Miniature had not only inspired pan Indian but acknowledged at international level. Though the art- forms of Kangra (present day in Himachal Pradesh) was in the womb of Mughal miniature but it was purely indigenous. The local flavor and sophisticated naturalism with the depiction of Ramayana, Mahabharat series, raga-raginis series with lyrical quality, Gita-Govinda as profound spiritualism under bhakti movement after the spread of Vaishnavism and the incarnations of Vishnu, Kangra miniature paintings, were the incredible facts that brought this art form up to zenith during 18th -mid of 19th century. The fantasy of the musical nodes and the lyrical quality of the Kangra Kalam was awesome. The artist of Kangra introduced the pacifistic and serene mountains in the background with groves, enchanting rivers with musical nodes, with the depiction of Flora and fauna of mainland. The glorified past of this Pahari art form is the staircase of contemporary art in Kangra. It is very imperative to move frontward with maintaining the legacy of this overestimated past. It can proceed with the effort of young and enthusiastic artists. Even the students of the NIFT and IIT are coming forward to proceed the legacy on international level. The harmony between the past and the present signifies the overall advancement of the region of Kangra of which history has been written in the golden words in world
