Jainism and Business Ethics: A Path to Sustainable and Responsible Corporate Practices

Abstract Jainism, an ancient Indian philosophy, emphasizes ethical principles such as non- violence (Ahimsa), truthfulness (Satya), and non-possessiveness (Aparigraha). These values provide a strong ethical foundation for business practices, aligning with modern corporate sustainability and social responsibility. By integrating Jain principles, businesses can foster ethical leadership, long-term sustainability, and responsible corporate governance. This paper explores the contributions of Jain philosophy to business ethics, examining its impact on corporate social responsibility (CSR), ethical leadership, and long-term sustainability. By highlighting the real-world examples, the paper has demonstrated how Jain values can help businesses navigate the complex challenges of the modern corporate landscape, while fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
Objectives and Methodology: This paper has explored how Jain ethical principles influence corporate ethics and CSR while assessing their practical applications and challenges in modern business environment. The paper adopted a qualitative approach through literature review and case study analysis. It examined the philosophical foundations of Jain ethics and their impact on CSR strategies. By studying Jain-influenced businesses, the paper has made an effort to identify the patterns in ethical leadership, sustainable decision-making, and philanthropic activities of Jain Businesses.
Conclusion: The Paper concluded that Jain ethics provide a strong foundation for CSR, promoting sustainability, ethical labour practices, and responsible wealth management. Businesses integrating these principles can enhance social welfare and long-term ethical profitability
