| Abstract | Faced with paralysis, she chose positivity over pity and strength over surrender. This paper is about a 30 year old lady suffering from paralysis in both the legs and one finger of her hand due to a traumatic incident in which a relative spiked her drink. Despite facing the physical challenges and early motherhood at the age of 14, she manages to be emotionally resilient and has a positive mindset towards her life. She currently resides in an NGO that provides her caring environment and medical treatment. Her family is very supportive in both emotional and financial ways. Though the physical distance, her husband is the strong source of her emotional well being. This paper seeks to study the case of a 30 year old woman with an existing mobility disability from an in depth case study to explore the psychological resilience, quality of life, and emotional well-being with a severe disability. To assess her well-being, the WHO Quality of Life (WHOQOL-BREF) questionnaire was administered, offering insights to understand how trauma, early motherhood, physical disability, and long-term institutional living impact her mental health and overall life satisfaction, while also highlighting the role of family support and personal mindset in fostering emotional strength. |
