Abstract Persisting depletion of non-renewable fossil fuels, resulting into escalation of energy starvation demands intense investigation and research innovation into this arena. There has been immense and consistent parametric study in the recent times, aiming to investigate the valorization in waste material conversion consisting from synthetic and biological sources. Though scientific perception of this scenario forecasts vast economical as well as technological challenges in order to overcome the cost barriers and engineering constraints; we have put an effort with perseverance to harvest an array of advanced techniques, spanning from energy recovery to generation of value added products encompassing future human need. A concise research report is presented here to build a sustainable environment, circumambulating waste utilization for energy generation.
