Abstract Academic stress and mental health issues are growing concerns in higher education. Rising cases of anxiety, depression, and stress-related challenges among students highlight the need for effective interventions. This paper presents a secondary research review on the role of technology-enabled solutions such as online counselling platforms, psychometric tools, and government initiatives like MANODARPAN and Tele-MANAS. It also explores private initiatives such as Bhavishyayaan that integrate guided wellness resources for students. The findings suggest that digital platforms, when combined with institutional efforts, can significantly improve access to mental health support. The paper concludes by describing how the National College of IT, Shri Muktsar Sahib, has initiated a student-led Mental Well-Being Club that organizes physical counselling sessions and also guides students to access digital resources, with sessions bookable online via the college website.
Keywords Mental health, academic stress, online counselling, digital interventions, Bhavishyayaan, MANODARPAN, Tele-MANAS, higher education.
