| Abstract | Indian enterprises have experienced a significant transformation from a highly regulated and protected environment to a more open and competitive framework. This history has been marked by accomplishments and challenges, with a distinct tendency towards globalization and increased competitiveness. The industry significantly bolsters the Indian economy by creating jobs, augmenting exports, and promoting overall economic progress. However, issues remain regarding geographical disparities, infrastructural development, and the need for ongoing innovation. The aim of this study was to examine several critical facets of Indian industries throughout the specified time frame. The requisite information was collected from 2012 to 2023, spanning eleven years. The principal source of information is the Annual Survey of Industries (ASI). The study utilized fundamental percentages to evaluate the data and ascertain the increase. The assessment includes variables such as the number of registered and operating factories, fixed and working capital, invested capital, outstanding loans, employment levels, utilized inputs, output, income, and profit margins within the two-digit industries. The findings demonstrate that almost all selected attributes for the study have a variable pattern. Many characteristics saw significant changes throughout the pandemic. |
