Author(s) Dr. TAPAS KUMAR CHATTOPADHYAY

Abstract The landscape of education in India has undergone significant transformation over the last two decades due to the integration of digital technology. Various government-led and private sector initiatives have been instrumental in reshaping teaching, learning, assessment, and administration. From projects like DIKSHA, SWAYAM, and ePathshala to the proliferation of EdTech platforms and virtual labs, India has embraced technology to ensure inclusive and equitable access to quality education. This thesis explores the evolution, implementation, and impact of digital initiatives on the Indian education system. It critically evaluates their role in bridging socio-economic disparities, promoting digital literacy, and aligning education with the demands of the 21st-century knowledge economy. The study further examines challenges such as the digital divide, infrastructural limitations, and pedagogical adaptations, while suggesting future pathways to maximize the potential of digital transformation.
