| Abstract | This research paper examines the philosophical foundations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's views on gender equality and women's empowerment, analysing their contemporary relevance and application in 21st century India. Through systematic analysis of Ambedkar's writings, speeches, and legislative contributions, particularly the Hindu Code Bill, this study demonstrates how his vision transcended the limitations of his time to establish an enduring framework for gender justice. The paper explores the intersectionality of caste, class, and gender in Ambedkar's thought, contrasting his approach with both traditional patriarchal structures and contemporary feminist discourse. Findings reveal that Ambedkar's emphasis on constitutional safeguards, education, political representation, and economic independence for women continues to provide valuable guidance for addressing persistent gender inequalities. The research concludes that a renewed engagement with Ambedkar's philosophy offers significant potential for advancing women's rights and creating a more equitable society in modern India. |
