| Abstract | Migrant workers play an indispensable role in the socio-economic structure of Kerala, especially in the northern districts, where labor shortages are acute. Despite their contributions, these workers face multifaceted challenges such as low wages, social isolation, occupational insecurity, and poor living conditions, which severely affect their work-life balance. This study, based on primary data collected from 435 migrant workers across Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts, examines the interrelationship between stress management practices, work-life balance, and socio-economic variables. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to validate the constructs of work-life balance and problems faced, while Path Analysis was employed to understand causal relationships. Findings indicate that stress management practices significantly reduce problems faced by migrant workers and positively influence their ability to balance work and personal life. The study suggests targeted welfare schemes, community-based support systems, and employer-led interventions to enhance the holistic well-being of migrant workers. |
