Abstract Hypertension is a major global health concern, predisposing individuals to cardiovascular, renal, and cerebrovascular diseases. High blood pressure (BP) is the leading risk factor for mortality, surpassing smoking, infections, atrial fibrillation, stroke, myocardial infarction, and kidney disease. Allium sativum (garlic), a bulbous plant of the Liliaceae family, has long been valued in traditional medicine for its effects on the circulatory system. In homoeopathy, it is prepared from the fresh bulb and is known to act on the vascular and digestive systems. Allium sativum (garlic) possesses vasodilatory properties that help reduce both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Clinical indications for Allium sativum in hypertension include elevated blood pressure with fullness in the head, vertigo, sluggish circulation, dyspepsia, hypercholesterolemia, and intolerance to rich or fatty food. It is especially suited to individuals with sedentary habits, obesity, and atheromatous changes in vessels. Hypertension, a major non-communicable disease, is responsible for a significant number of global deaths, including approximately 17.9 million yearly. India, with a population of over 1.4 billion, is facing a serious challenge in combating this silent killer.
