Author(s) Dr. Anita Sheerha
Country India
Abstract The foundation of country's development is education, which moulds people's intellectual, social, and emotional growth. Over time, education systems evolve to address societal needs, technological advancements, and global challenges. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in India signifies a dramatic change in the direction of a more flexible, interdisciplinary, and comprehensive approach to education. By shifting away from rote memorization and high- stakes
examinations, the NEP acknowledges the psychological factors influencing learning, motivation, and overall student well-being. The present paper examines the psychological principle embedded in National education policy 2020 and its impact on student’s well-being. The NEP 2020 is a psychologically informed policy that fosters cognitive, emotional, and social growth. By aligning
education with psychological principles, it aims to create a more inclusive, flexible, and learner- friendly environment.
