| Abstract | Job satisfaction among Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) is a critical determinant of both educational outcomes and teacher retention in senior secondary institutions. This study seeks to examine the levels, dimensions, and determinants of job satisfaction among PGTs, with specific attention to factors such as workload, salary structure, organizational climate, professional autonomy, and opportunities for career advancement. Drawing on sociological perspectives, the research highlights the interplay between individual aspirations and institutional frameworks in shaping teachers’ experiences of their profession. Data is collected using standardized job satisfaction scales along with semi-structured interviews to capture both quantitative trends and qualitative insights. Preliminary findings suggest that while intrinsic motivation and passion for teaching contribute positively, systemic constraints such as bureaucratic pressures, limited recognition, and infrastructural inadequacies often undermine satisfaction levels. The study contributes to the sociological understanding of work, identity, and institutional culture, while offering policy recommendations for enhancing teacher well-being and effectiveness. |
