| Abstract | In this research paper, the role of the learning environment in shaping effective educational experiences is examined, with a specific focus on Civics teaching. Learning environment is understood not only as the physical space of the classroom but also as the emotional and intellectual climate where learners feel secure, motivated, and supported. Drawing on the constructivist approach, this paper highlights the relevance of the 5E instructional model—Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, and Evaluation. The discussion is framed within the recommendations of the National Curriculum Framework 2005 and the recent National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023. The paper explores practical strategies for classroom application, emphasizing how the 5E model can enhance active participation, critical thinking, and democratic values in Civics teaching. |
