Abstract Alkaloids are natural products encompassing a vast array of bitter, nitrogenous
substances. Marine actinomycetes generally considered as alkaloids generate a
plethora of biologically active compounds that can function as enzymes or
serve in the treatment of malignancies, malaria, as well as fungal and bacterial
infections. Caerulomycins, derived from Streptomyces caeruleus, are
bipyridinic molecules characterized by their remarkable antibiotic properties.
