| Abstract | This study explores how narrative structures, visual aesthetics, and rhetorical strategies in data visualization influence comprehension, memorability, and trust in communication design. Through secondary research, it finds that narratives improve coherence and recall, aesthetics enhance engagement and retention, and rhetorical framing shapes perceptions of credibility, though each poses risks of oversimplification or bias if misapplied. Cognitive factors such as prior knowledge, belief systems, and cognitive load, along with demographic and cultural diversity, further affect audience interpretation. Infographics and interactive formats highlight the potential of visualization across education, advocacy, and marketing, while also revealing limitations in precision and ethical concerns. The findings suggest that effective visualization requires balancing engagement, accuracy, and ethics, with accessibility and inclusivity serving as essential guiding principles. Overall, data visualization is not only a technical practice but also a communicative and ethical act that influences how societies interpret and trust information. |
