Abstract The basic defensive stance is a fundamental and alert body position where defending team players anticipate, react, and execute effective ball control. This position enables the defensive player to respond effectively and accurately to an opponent’s attack or serve. The role of the basic defensive stance is to provide stability and quick reaction ability to the defensive team players during the opponent’s attack or serve.
