Impact of Public Policy and Governance in Education

Abstract	This research paper investigates the critical role of public policy and governance in shaping the education sector. With a focus on India’s evolving education system, the study examines how policy reforms impact school governance, equity in access, quality of education, and accountability mechanisms. The study adopts a mixed-method approach, collecting data from government policy documents and interviews with school administrators. Key findings highlight that clear and transparent policy frameworks significantly enhance governance practices, leading to improved educational outcomes. However, challenges remain in implementation due to resource constraints and bureaucratic inefficiencies. The paper concludes with policy recommendations aimed at strengthening governance structures and promoting inclusive education.
