| Abstract | With NEP’s launch in 2020, began a new dawn of Indian education. It had multiple propositions about adding to, modifying and even deleting some long existing policies related to development of a good education system in India. It was formulated against the backdrop of SDG 4. This paper would try to trace the origin of SDG, NEP and through it, would uncover the underlying relationship between the two in order to trace the similarities and differences that exist. The paper would conclude with some achievements of NEP thus far and with it, certain challenges that have appeared during the research. In essence, both NEP and SDG 4 are unified in their aim of achieving 100% literacy and GER with quality education, vocational courses and teachers’ training to create an environment of learning where it is not tedious or overbearing to get educated, but instead, offers a liberating experience. |
