| Abstract | In Ayurveda, health is not merely the absence of disease but a state of dynamic balance between the body, mind, and environment. This is clearly seen in Mukha Roga (oral diseases), where daily food and lifestyle habits have a direct effect on how the disease develops and heals. Classical Ayurvedic texts stress the concept of Pathya and Apathya—what should be followed and what must be avoided—as a cornerstone of both prevention and cure. This article explores how specific dietary substances such as Mudga, Patola, Karavellaka, Khadira, and others, when used thoughtfully, act not just as nourishment but as medicine for oral tissues. Simultaneously, Ayurvedic therapeutic practices like Nasya, Virechana, Vamana, and Gandusha offer localized and systemic detoxification, enhancing tissue regeneration and immunity. By aligning ancient wisdom with contemporary understanding of nutrition and pathology, this work emphasizes the profound therapeutic impact of Pathya in restoring oral health and maintaining it in the long term. |
