A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programme Regarding Inotropic Drugs and Its Responsibilities among the Staff Nurses Working in Selected Hospital of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh

Abstract Inotropic agent are the drugs that increases the cardiac contractility by increasing the force of contraction and also velocity of contraction. Inotropic drugs are used for treatment of heart diseases for a long period of time or to treat emergency cardiac conditions. The objectives of the present study were: To assess the knowledge regarding inotropic drugs among the staff nurses in selected hospital of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, To assess the effectiveness of Planned Teaching programme on knowledge regarding inotropic drugs and its responsibilities among the staff nurses in selected hospital of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh and To determine the association between the pre test and post test score level with their selected demographic variables. The research approach for the present study was Quantitative Research. The research design adopted for the current study is One group pre test post test research design. The study was conducted in LLR hospital, Kanpur.In this study, the samples are the staff nurses working in LLR Hospital, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh who fulfilled the sampling criteria for the study. The sample size in the present study 30 staff nurses.In this study, Simple Random Sampling Technique is used. From the findings of the present study, it can be concluded that the Planned teaching programme regarding inotropic drugs and its responsibilities is found effective by calculating paired t test which signifies its effectiveness and thus hypothesis H1 was accepted. There is a significant association found between knowledge score and selected demographic variable such as professional qualification, years of experience and previous knowledge. Thus, hypothesis H2 was accepted
