| Abstract | The frequency and intensity of these events have been increasing over recent decades, leading to profound loss of life, displacement of populations, destruction of property, and long-term disruption of health systems. In such scenarios, the healthcare sector plays a critical role, not only during the emergency phase but also in the phases of preparedness, mitigation, and recovery. Among healthcare professionals, Community Health Nurses (CHNs) serve as frontline responders who are uniquely positioned to work closely with communities before, during, and after disasters. A study was conducted to assess the knowledge regarding the role of Community Health Nurses in disaster preparedness & response among the B.sc nursing IV th yr students, Faculty Of nursing, Rama University, Kanpur. Objectives of the study was To assess the knowledge level of the nursing students regarding the role of Community Health Nurses in disaster preparedness & response & to find out the association between knowledge level of nursing students with socio demographic variables. Cross sectional survey approach was adopted in the present study. Data was collected from 100 B.sc nursing IV th yr students at Faculty Of nursing, Rama University, Kanpur. Result of the study was that 70% have moderate knowledge 10% having adequate knowledge and 20 % having inadequate knowledge. |
