| Abstract | Machine learning and deep learning have rapidly emerged as transformative technologies across multiple domains, including image and speech recognition, natural language processing, and medicine. This paper reviews the fundamental methods and applications of these approaches, highlighting their strengths, limitations, and potential future directions. Key challenges such as data privacy, ethical concerns, and the need for transparency in decision-making are also examined. As core branches of artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning have gained prominence for their ability to analyze vast datasets, generate predictions, and provide insights that were once unattainable. Their applications span numerous industries and continue to reshape the way humans interact with technology, driving innovation and new opportunities. This review provides an overview of the principles of machine learning and deep learning, clarifies their distinctions, and surveys their applications and societal impacts. By drawing on current literature and research, the paper aims to deepen understanding of these technologies and assess their implications for the future. |
