| Abstract | This study investigates the perceptions of educators and tourism industry experts of Kerala regarding the potential, challenges, and strategies for the development of youth tourism in Kerala. Using survey data from 35 educators and 39 industry professionals totaling to 74 respondents, a comparative analysis was carried out focusing on key aspects such as destination appeal, infrastructure facilities, digital engagement, policy support, and educational alignment in connection with the youth travel pattern in Kerala. Descriptive statistics, standard deviation analysis, and correlation analysis were employed to identify similarities and differences in perception. The findings reveal a generally positive outlook towards Kerala's youth tourism potential, though with nuanced differences in emphasis and concern between the two groups. While both groups agree on the strength of Kerala's natural and cultural attractions, industry experts express greater concern about affordability and accessibility. Educators highlight the importance of aligning tourism education with industry needs and fostering youth entrepreneurship. This comparative analysis offers valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders aiming to develop a sustainable and youth-led tourism strategy for Kerala, emphasizing the need for collaboration between the educational and industry sectors. |
