The “One Nation- One Data” policy in India: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for National Data Integration.

Author(s) Mr. MUPPIDI RAJKUMAR, Dr. KATTA PADMAJA
Country India
Abstract India’s rapid digital transformation has generated vast amounts of data across government, private, and public sectors, creating both opportunities and challenges in data governance. Existing initiatives like the National Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy (NDSAP) and the Personal Data Protection Bill emphasize privacy, security, and accessibility, yet fragmented systems often limit effective utilization. The One Nation, One Data (ONOD) policy seeks to address this gap by building a unified, standardized data ecosystem that ensures interoperability, transparency, and efficient data use. Central to this vision are Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), which enable automated data harmonization, predictive analytics, privacy-preserving techniques, and enhanced cybersecurity. Together, these efforts aim to strengthen governance, foster innovation, and drive inclusive economic and social development in India.
